Where is the Carpenters Guild?
The Carpentry Guild is Located in Gridania, and is Headed by Beatin.
What do carpenters craft?
Battlecraft Gear
[*]Lancer Arms (Lance)
[*]Archers Arms (Bow)
[*]2h Conjurer Arms (Staff)
[*]1h Conjurer Arms (Wand)
[*]Gladiator / Paladin Arms
[*]Caster Shield
[*]Caster Mask
Tradecraft Gear
[*]Goldsmiths Grinding Wheel (Off-Hand)
[*]Weavers Spinning Wheel (Off-Hand)
[*]Crafting Boots
Fieldcraft Gear
[*]Fishing Rod (Main Hand)
[*]Gig (Fishing Off-hand)
Components used by other crafting classes
[*]Lumber
What classes should be Carpenters?
A must have for Conjurers (White Mage), and still pretty good for Lancers (Dragoon), and Archers (Bard). Carpentry is pretty narrow for non-conjurers, but they do craft many important pieces (9 arms-type gear). Lumber is also used by alot of other crafting classes.
Again, every crafting class benefits / relies on other crafting classes for components, so it’s never truly useless to train Carpentry(or all crafting classes)
Carpentry skills
Every Crafting (Disciple of Hand) class has 14 skills, 11 of which are common among all of them, while three are unique to each class. Below are the Carpentry only skills.
Carpenter Skill Discussion
Rumination: Very good. More CP is always good, because it keeps you going, and gives you more options. You’re almost always going to use Masters Mend after this.
Brand of Wind: Like any ‘brand’ skill, this is almost always better than any generic synthesis skill. As a cross-class skill, this of course depends on the element of the item you’re crafting. Use it if you the item you’re crafting is ice element. (Determined by shard used?)
Byregot’s Blessing: By default this is pretty bad. Keep note that it only has a 70% Success Rate. The upside though is huge. At 3 bonuses from inner quiet, this becomes the strongest quality raising skill. The best time to use this is obviously after you have stacked more than 3 bonuses from Inner Quiet, right before rumination. The ideal flow of actions would be Inner Quiet + Steady Hands > Raise Quality > Byregot’s Blessing > Rumination.
All in all, the carpentry skill set is strong. Both unique skills revolve around inner quiet, and are very useful. They’re better off when crafting items with an extreme quality bar. Brand of Wind is, just like any brand, useful when applicable.
